Wine estate in the Beaujolais region

In the heart of the Beaujolais des Pierres Dorées hills,
where vineyards have shaped the landscape for centuries,
Domaine Rivière continues a deeply rooted family winemaking tradition.

Vigneron à Bagnols dans le Beaujolais des Pierres Dorées

Five generations of passionate winemakers have succeeded one another on our estate, all sharing the same conviction: to produce authentic, lively wines that respect their terroir.

Today, in a region where vineyards are gradually disappearing, we have chosen to resist with passion, commitment, and tradition. Our son Valentin, at only 20 years old, has joined us in the family adventure to write the next chapter of the estate’s history.

A committed young generation, a renewed heritage.

Our Beaujolais wines

Our wines bear the mark of this history and this terroir. We carefully cultivate our plots to offer you AOC Chiroubles, Morgon, Beaujolais-Villages, and Beaujolais (Red, White, and Rosé) wines, using an eco-friendly approach certified HEV (High Environmental Value).

Our wines are fruity, supple, easy to drink, and reflect the spirit of Beaujolais: accessible, sincere, joyful.

We are wine artisans and lovers of the vineyard. Each bottle tells the story of our land, our family, and our commitment.

And tomorrow, with Valentin, we are committed to keeping this heritage alive and thriving.

We focus our efforts on hospitality and wine tourism.

These activities allow us to get closer to our visitors, giving us the opportunity to share our profession and raise awareness of our practices and cultivation methods. And it is in the heart of our wine cellar that we love to welcome visitors.

Built right next to the vineyards, we offer more than just a wine tasting. It’s an immersion into the world of wine.

Being welcomed into the vineyards allows you to immediately understand where wine comes from. The landscape, the rows of vines, the soil, the light… everything contributes to making the experience unforgettable.

The wine estate

The expansion of our vineyard (34 hectares), resulting from both the acquisition of vineyards in different areas of the Beaujolais region and new plantings, has enabled us to diversify our range of still wines by offering three colours (white, rosé and red), with several appellations including two crus (Chiroubles and Morgon). We also offer Crémant de Bourgogne and a sparkling rosé made using traditional methods.

We have always been driven by the desire to improve quality: the quality of our products, but also the quality of our hospitality. That is why we are constantly improving our working methods.

We had a wine cellar built in 2014 (800 m²), which has enabled us to optimise our work. It was designed as a real tool for wine production and allows us to work each plot with precision, respecting the grapes, the terroir and our identity. It is a tool that gives us greater control over vinification and ageing.

The result is wines that are more precise, more balanced and faithful to their origins.

Our wine estate is committed to respecting nature.

Our vineyard is fully integrated into the beautiful Beaujolais landscape and benefits from a high level of biodiversity, which we also promote on the estate.

Our vineyards have been managed using sustainable agriculture practices for many years. These practices were highlighted in 2019 when we obtained the HEV certification.

High Environmental Value (HEV) certification guarantees that the agricultural practices implemented across the entire estate preserve ecosystems and limit pressure on the environment (soil, water, biodiversity, etc.).

It is based on four themes:

  • preserving biodiversity (insects, trees, hedges, grass strips, flowers, etc.)
  • plant protection strategy
  • fertilisation management
  • irrigation management.

The certification is awarded to our vineyard for three years by an independent inspection body approved by the Ministry of Agriculture.
